Photos: KimYe Set Trap for friends by Distributing Fake Baby

Kanye and Kim set a trap for their friends to see which one would sell a picture of their new baby. According to TMZ, they received a photo purportedly of North West but when they checked with Kim's camp to see if it was the real baby pic, they discovered they had received one of several decoy photos distributed by the couple.

TMZ reports:

Someone has been trying to sell this baby pic for a lot of $$$$ -- allegedly the spawn of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. But sources connected with the couple tell TMZ, it's a fraud!

Following his arrest last week for allegedly mutilating the corpse of a 13-month-old baby boy in his hospital, a 37-year-old woman identified as Cordelia Ifechukwude, has alleged that she suffered similar fate at the medical centre of a Lagos-based doctor, Babawale Joshua.

The Aniocha North, Delta-born mother of five narrated her experience:

The incident happened at the No 1 Ajike close, branch of the medical centre, a few metres away from Amje bus-stop, Alakuko, a suburb of Lagos. According to Vanguard, she said “It happened in year 2000 when I took in with my first baby.

"I registered at Ayinke House, Ikeja General Hospital, but because I was advised to also register at a clinic very close to our house, I registered at Ajike hospital at Amje bus stop, Alakuko. We lived at Ajegunle bus stop, not too far from the clinic.

A suspected kidnapper, Awo Denis, alias Orland, has been arrested by the Kogi State Police Command.
Denis was alleged to have perpetrated criminal activities in Delta, Edo and Anambra states before his arrest.
The suspect was arrested by the police at the premises of the First Bank branch at the Kogi State University, Anyingba, while attempting to withdraw N1.5 million believed to be the ransom deposited to his account by relatives of a victim.
The victim is a wife of a professor.
The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hilary Opara, told journalists yesterday in his office in Lokoja that the suspect travelled all the way from his hideout in Ozoro, Delta State, to Anyigba to withdraw the money.

Close family members of Nelson Mandela gathered yesterday in his ancestral village in the Eastern Cape where he has asked to be buried, when he dies, according to Xhosa custom in a grave beside his mother and father.

The Anambra State police command yesterday announced the arrest of 97 suspected kidnappers, 131 armed robbers and 11 cultists between January 2013 and June 24, 2013.
Similarly, the command also said that it handled 31 kidnapping cases, killed seven kidnappers and eight armed robbers, recovered 13 AK47 rifles, 4, 385 assorted ammunition, 331 cartridges, 105 magazines and 46 robbed vehicles.
Also, 22 kidnapped victims were rescued among other achievements that were recorded by the command within the period.
State Commissioner of Police, Ballah M. Nasarawa, gave these details when he hosted the Assistant Inspector- General of Police in charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, Muhammad Tambari Yabo, at the State Command Headquarters, Awka.
Nasarawa said the police was able to achieve these because of the cooperation they received from key stakeholders in the state like traditional and community leaders, vigilance groups and sister security agencies in the state.

The Ogun State command of Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, has intercepted 57 sacks of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp concealed in 5kg bag each in the Imeko/Ilara/Aiyetoro border route, valued at N2.3 million.

A girl that went to a hospital after experiencing strong stomach pains found out she was pregnant, according to hospital officials and police reports.

A 12-year-old, who had suffered from being ráped for a year, went to the hospital and found out she was pregnant. Cesar Ernest Alcivar, 39, was arrested for allegedly ráping the girl in Florida and fathering the child.

She reportedly had no idea she was pregnant and had gone to the hospital just to see why she had stomach pains. When doctors performed tests on the Clearwater girl, they soon discovered she was pregnant, according to reports. The name of the girl, and how advanced the pregnancy had been at the time has not been released.

A woman is behind bars after abusing her newborn baby in order to snap child abuse photos, according to police reports.

Brittany Lester, a 21-year-old stripper from Florida, is in jail for placing her baby in a variety of dangerous places inside her motel room and taking photos to send them through text messages to the baby's father.

Lester is accused of child abuse after she allegedly took her five-week-old son and placed him in the following locations in her motel room, according to police reports. She stripped her son down to his diaper and squeezed between him in between the mattress and the box spring, lying in a dresser drawer while crying, lying under the bed, sitting on the toilet and inside the trashcan upside down.

The Federal Government may soon place restrictions on the importation of generators into the country. This was disclosed by President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday at the 5th Academy for Entrepreneurial Studies, Nigeria, AES, held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
Jonathan, who was represented by the Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Mike Onolememen, noted that, while the government is studying the proposal of restricting or banning importation of generators, his administration was working to ensure that current electricity problem facing the country is addresse.
The president praised the efforts of the AES in repositioning the youths through her ‘Operation 500 Students-Entrepreneurs Programme’, where 500 students in each tertiary institution in the country are trained on leadership and entrepreneurship free in collaboration with the school authorities every year.

Eedris Abdulkareem and actress Benita Nzeribe were also at the event.

Chris Brown says he's been falsely accused of assaulting a woman in an Orange County nightclub over the weekend, and based on the chit chat we had with her on "TMZ Live" today ... he may have a point. 24-year-old Deanna Gines claims Brown pushed her to the ground as he was leaving the club, tearing the ligaments in her right leg in the process. She says she filed a police report.

So we asked if she planned to sue Brown for medical expenses and pain and suffering -- a reasonable assumption, right? Gines said all she really wants is an apology.

Even more curious ... even though she said all she wants is an apology ... she's pressing on with her criminal allegations. And, she's already lawyered up. Let's see what happens next

Ex-Italian PM, Belusconi, Bags Seven Years Imprisonment

A Milan court sentenced Italian former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi on Monday to seven years in prison after convicting him of paying for sex with a minor but he will not have to serve any jail time before he has exhausted appeals.

Reuters reports that with two appeals possible, it could be years before a verdict is final and Berlusconi lawyers announced they would file an appeal against what his counsel NiccoloGhedini called a “completely illogical” verdict.

The verdict against the flamboyant 76-year-old media tycoon added to the complications facing Prime Minister Enrico Letta, whose fragile left-right coalition is supported by Berlusconi’s centre-right People of Freedom party.

Berlusconi was found guilty of paying for sex with former teenage nightclub dancer Karima El Mahroug, better known under her stage name “Ruby the Heartstealer”, during alleged “bungabunga” sex parties at his palatial home near Milan.

A security man and employee of First Bank Nigeria Plc, Jibowu Branch, Seyi Jaiyeola, is standing trial at a magistrate’s court in Ebute Meta for allegedly breaking the company’s automated teller machine and stealing a sum of N12, 533,900.

The bank’s branch Service Manager, Mr. Kayode Aiyewunmi, who gave evidence in court, said Jaiyeola was on a N20, 000 monthly pay and was a member of the Odua People’s Congress.

He said the company had observed that one of the bank’s four ATMs was having a reconciliation problem and had employed the service of an expert to help unravel mysterious disappearances of money.

Aiyewunmi said, “We discovered that there was always a shortage of cash in the machine.

“Despite our reconciliation efforts, the ATM was still having problems and we engaged the service of an expert who submitted his report and said the machine did not have any reconciliation issue.

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi says profligacy in front of goal was a big factor in his side’s exit from the Confederations Cup in Brazil.

The African champions finished next to bottom in their group after a 3-0 loss to Spain in their last game on Sunday.

Prior to the defeat, Nigeria beat Tahiti 6-1 and lost 2-1 to Uruguay.

A diplomatic row seems to be brewing between Nigeria and the United Kingdom following a proposed policy by the British Government requiring Nigerian travellers to the UK to deposit £3,000 as bond in case they overstay their visa limits.

On Monday, the Federal Government summoned the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Andrew Pocock, over the development while the House of Representatives which flayed the policy, argued that it could have negative impact on the relationship between the two countries.

Nigeria, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Pakistan and India are listed by the UK as countries whose citizens are to deposit the £3,000 under the proposed policy that will take off in November.

The war against HIV/AIDS is far from being over. This is because, globally, more than 34 million people now live with HIV/AIDS, while 3.3 million of them are under the age of 15.

According to amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, which is dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research, in 2011 alone, an estimated 2.5 million people were newly infected with HIV; and out of these, 330,000 were under the age of 15.

Sad to say, everyday, nearly 7,000 people contract HIV — nearly 300 every hour.

And, despite the giant strides made in the fight against this disease, in 2011, 1.7 million people died from AIDS, and 230,000 of them were under the age of 15.

And if you must know, more than two-thirds (69 per cent) of all people living with HIV (23.5 million), live in sub-Saharan Africa, of which Nigeria is a part. Ninety-one percent of the world’s HIV-positive children are also found in the sub-Sahara. And in 2011, an estimated 1.8 million people in the region became newly infected.

Don’t Impose Your Daughter On Market Women – PDP

Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has been asked to rescind his decision to impose his daughter, Shade Tinubu-Ojo, as the new leader of market women in the state.

Peoples Democratic Party, in a statement on Monday by its Lagos Publicity Secretary, Taofik Gani, urged him to allow democracy to prevail in the selection of a new leader.

“You should allow the simple tenets of democracy to prevail in the selection of a new leader for the market women, more so as there is no cogent evidence that the nominee is a full-time market woman,” the statement said.

The former governor had allegedly announced the choice during the eighth day Firdau prayer for his mother and former leader of Association of Market Women and Men of Nigeria, Alhaja Abibat Mogaji.

The Lagos State Police Command has smashed a kidnap syndicate comprising nine Nigerians based in Ghana. They are said to have been responsible for the kidnap of the Ejigbo Local Council Development Area boss, Mr Kehinde Bamigbetan, two months ago and a Federal High Court Judge.
In the process, seven suspected members of the syndicate were killed during a gun battle, yesterday.
Two suspected members of the gang were also arrested at their hideout in Agbara area of Ogun State, while an Indian national identified as Vivex Changrani, said to have been kidnapped Sunday, was rescued.

Recovered at the end of the gun battle said to have lasted 30 minutes, were four AK 47 riffles, two of which had police identification mark, 28 AK 47 magazines fully loaded, more than 1,000 rounds of AK- 47 live ammunition, army uniforms and two vehicles — a Honda CRV SUV with number plate ABC 106 AE and a Nissan Pathfinder SUV with number plate AGL 730 AZ.

A bridegroom and three of his relations have been reportedly killed in a motor accident along the Benin-Auchi highway at Iruekpen in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.
According to an eye witness, the groom, his grand-mother, uncle and uncle’s wife were said to be travelling to Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State for the wedding introduction when the accident occurred.
Their vehicle was said to have had head-on collision with a heavy duty truck conveying sand, belonging to a construction firm.

Four death row inmates have been reportedly hanged in Benin, the Edo State capital. The convicts were hanged on Monday evening, prison sources and officials said.

Local and International organisations including Amnesty International had appealed to Governor Adams Oshiomhole not to sign the death warrants of the convicts.

However, President Goodluck Jonathan has recently advised state governors to be bold and act constitutionally by signing the death warrants of death row inmates convicted by the courts.

A Missouri woman and her daughter confessed to fatally poisoning two relatives with antifreeze and attempting to kill a third over a 14-month period, according to court documents. Diane Staudte, 51, of Springfield, was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault and one count of armed criminal action. Her daughter, Rachel Staudte, 22, was charged with the same counts Saturday.
Both women are jailed without bond. A spokeswoman for the Greene County prosecutor’s office didn’t immediately return an email Saturday from The Associated Press. It wasn’t clear if the women had attorneys. Diane Staudte initially told law enforcement that her husband, Mark Staudte, 61, hadn’t been feeling well and suffered from seizures before his April 2012 death, the probable cause statement said. And she said her son, Shawn Staudte, 26, had been sick with flu-like symptoms before his death in September.

National Security Adviser, Alhaji Sambo Dasuki, on Monday in Abuja warned Nigerians to be extra careful when hiring security personnel, saying such measures would circumvent the mistake of recruiting terrorists and people with criminal tendencies.

The NSA sounded the warning during a one-day workshop with the theme, ‘Importance of Security Awareness and Drills in Contemporary Nigeria’, which was jointly organised by his office, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Department of Security Service.

Participants at the workshop were largely made up of religious, traditional and community leaders, who are expected to communicate the message to the people at the grass roots.

Dasuki, who was represented by Maj-Gen. Babatunde Samuel (retd.), said investigation had revealed that some of the security personnel patronised by several individuals, communities and organisations were in most cases unqualified people with questionable characters.

LITTLE COLORADO RIVER GORGE, Ariz. — Aerialist Nik Wallenda completed a tightrope walk that took him a quarter mile over the Little Colorado River Gorge in northeastern Arizona on Sunday.

Wallenda performed the stunt on a 2-inch-thick steel cable, 1,500 feet above the river on the Navajo Nation near the Grand Canyon. He took just more than 22 minutes, pausing and crouching twice as winds whipped around him and the rope swayed.

"Thank you Lord. Thank you for calming that cable, God," he said about 13 minutes into the walk.

Wallenda didn't wear a harness and stepped slowly and steady throughout, murmuring prayers to Jesus almost constantly along the way. He jogged and hopped the last few steps.

The event was broadcast live on the Discovery Channel.
