Super
Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo has cautioned dissatisfied West Brom striker
Osaze Odemwingie over his verbal tirade on coach Steven Keshi and
ex-international Victor Ikpeba.
Odemwingie
launched online attacks on the duo after he was left out of Nigeria’s
provisional 32-man list for the 2013 Nations Cup.
Commenting on Brila FM programme Sports Machine on Friday, Yobo said Odemwingie’s outburst was a distraction to the team, calling on him to respect the coach and the team.
‘’If
suddenly everyone has now become your enemy, you must  examine yourself
in the front of a mirror,’’ he said, adding that Odemwingie’s action
justified Keshi’s decision to leave him out.
‘’Osaze
should respect Nigeria and stop embarrassing the country in the social
media. He should approach football matters maturely and as a true
Nigerian, he should support the team and pray for our success in South
Africa.”
Questioned
about his future with the Eagles, Yobo said the 2013 Nations Cup would
be his last as he would like to give an opportunity to younger players
to develop.
