The Lady Who Wrecked Kate Henshaw's Marriage

The buzz about Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw and her better half of 12 years, Roderick James Nuttal’s crashed marriage may have come and gone but one thing that is still shrouded in secrecy is the real reason behind the unexpected separation from one of the then best couples in the entertainment industry.

It would be recalled that there were serious of tales that trailed the breakup and one of them was that her hubby who’s the Managing Director of Ledrop Nigeria Ltd (agents for Jack Daniels and Piper Hiedsieck) was romancing his secretary whose name was unknown, hence our curiosity to get to the root of the story.

This office after several investigations discovered that the said secretary is the main architect of the crashed union. Her name, we can exclusively disclose is Angela Gordon a twenty four years old pretty lady from the South South part of the country. Angela according to our source is a staff at Mr. Nuttal’s company located at Ligali Ayorinde, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The duo according to the story kicked off a secret romance which was fueled by Angela’s mum three years ago while kate’s marriage with her husband was still intact until the actress got wind of their affair.

The news of the romance we reliably learnt was brought to Kate’s notice by one of the aggrieved staff of her husband when it was obvious Angela was towing the part of a second wife. The revelation we learnt resulted to a surprise visit to her hubby’s office. “Aunty Kate stormed her husband’s office on this fateful evening unannounced and was shocked to find her husband with Angela in an uncompromising position”, “and I also learnt that she had initially lied that she was on a movie set in Lekki before paying the unwelcomed visit that ended their union”, the source revealed.

We further squealed that serious argument ensued between the two ladies and Mr. Nuttal we learnt had to confirm his affair with his secretary to his wife who became perplexed immediately. Our grapevine also added that the height of it was when Kate’s hubby gave her an option of either accepting things as it were or bow out of the marriage if she can’t stand his relationship with Angela.

The outcome of the storm however was the official statement from the estranged couple months later announcing their separation without any concrete reason when it was obvious the marriage could not go on.

Angela now cruises a black Range Rover Sport and lives in a cozy 3-bedroom apartment around Lekki phase 1 courtesy of her white lover. The new madam of the house as she’s popularly called by friends also allegedly miscarried a baby for Nuttal around late last year 2012 while the duo is also said to be flaunting their romance since the couple went their separate ways with Angela’s mum being her backbone.

In our facts finding mission, this office got in touch with Kate Henshaw who told us to feel free to ask her any question, she however denied the angle of the secretary, “No, that’s not the fact, Mr. Nuttal’s secretary is Yetunde and she has nothing to do with this, but for Angela, I don’t have much to say on this but I know her, she’s one of the Sales girls, so thanks for getting in touch all the same”, she ended in a final tone. Efforts to speak to Mr. Nuttal proved abortive as at press time. We shall be bringing her pictures in our next edition as we unfold more facts of the romance.

I'm Not Dating Adams Of Soundcity - Chidinma Cries Out At Last

In late 2012, a romance rumour between 'small but mighty' singer, Chidinma Ekile of MTN Project Fame and Adams Ibrahim of Soundcity TV, spread like a harmattan fire.

So rife was the reported romance that many even speculated that it would lead to marriage with the way it was going.

Even as the reports were getting heated, both parties involved in the rumoured relationship kept sealed lips on the issue. While Chidinma has continued to face her profession as a singer, Adams is making waves as a top TV presenter.

Speaking recently in an interview with STV Lagos, the singer debunked the rumour of a romantic relationship between her and the former Next Movie Star contestant, Adams.

She said nothing went on between the two of them as reported in the media. Chidinma said she decided to keep calm on the issue for a long time because she was enjoying the hype the news was giving her.

“I am getting used to such news, it is part of the job, but nothing of such happened between us,” the former MTN Project Fame winner said on Entertainment Weekly show on STV.

NBA player Jason Collins comes out as a Gay Man

Jason Collins, a 12-year NBA veteran, is the first active male athlete in a major American team sport to come out as gay.
Collins made the announcement in a first-person essay for Sports Illustrated that appeared online Monday.
"I'm a 34-year-old NBA center. I'm black. And I'm gay," Collins wrote in the first paragraph of the story that will run in the May 6 issue. It is co-written with Franz Lidz.
"I wish I wasn't the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, 'I'm different,' " Collins wrote. "If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I'm raising my hand."
WHO IS COLLINS? A look at his career, life
Collins is a free agent who finished this past season with the Washington Wizards. He wants to continue his career.
"When I was younger I dated women," Collins wrote. "I even got engaged. I thought I had to live a certain way. I thought I needed to marry a woman and raise kids with her. I kept telling myself the sky was red, but I always knew it was blue."
Jarron Collins, Jason's twin, also wrote a first-person piece for SI in which he said his brother told him last summer: "I won't lie. I had no idea. We talked, he answered my questions, I hugged him and I digested what he had told me. At the end of the day, this is what matters: He's my brother, he's a great guy, and I want him to be happy. I'll love him and I'll support him and, if necessary, I'll protect him."
Former President Bill Clinton, whose daughter Chelsea was a classmate of Collins at Stanford, issued a statement of support saying: "Jason's announcement today is an important moment for professional sports and in the history of the LGBT community. ... I hope that everyone, particularly Jason's colleagues in the NBA, the media and his many fans extend to him their support and the respect he has earned."
NBA Commissioner David Stern said in a statement: "Jason has been a widely respected player and teammate throughout his career and we are proud he has assumed the leadership mantle on this very important issue."
GLAAD, a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy organization, issued a statement of support.
"'Courage' and 'inspiration' are words that get thrown around a lot in sports, but Jason Collins has given both ideas a brand new context," said Aaron McQuade, head of GLAAD's sports program. "We hope that his future team will welcome him, and that fans of the NBA and sports in general will applaud him."
Collins wrote in his SI piece that he was jealous of Joe Kennedy, Collins' roommate at Stanford and a Democratic congressman, marching in a gay pride parade in Boston when he was running for office.
"For as long as I've known Jason Collins, he has been defined by three things: His passion for the sport he loves, his unwavering integrity, and the biggest heart you will ever find," Kennedy said in a statement. "Without question or hesitation, he gives everything he's got to those of us lucky enough to be in his life. I'm proud to stand with him today and proud to call him a friend."
Collins has started 476 games, including nine this year, over 12 NBA seasons. He's averaged 3.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
He played 6½ seasons for the then-New Jersey Nets, who drafted him 18th overall in 2001. His best season was 2004-05, when he posted 6.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 0.9 blocks a game and led the NBA in personal fouls.
Collins was traded in 2008 to the Memphis Grizzlies. He finished that season with them before a one-season stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He helped the Atlanta Hawks to playoff berths from 2010-12, then this season joined the Boston Celtics. He was dealt to the Wizards midseason.
professional athlete. His team, the Washington Wizards, made a statement supporting Collins.
"If you have learned anything from Jackie Robinson, it is that teammates are always the first to accept," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said in a statement. "It will be society who has to learn tolerance."
Collins received support from fellow players as well.
Kobe Bryant tweeted: "Proud of @jasoncollins34. Don't suffocate who u r because of the ignorance of others #courage #support #mambaarmystandup #BYOU"
Bryant's Laker teammate Steve Nash also offered his support tweeting: "The time has come. Maximum respect."
But not everyone has been supportive. Miami Dolphins receiver Mike Wallace posted and later removed the following tweet:
"All these beautiful women in the world and guys wanna mess with other guys SMH..."

See The Video Of Nollywood Actress Confession To Witch Craft

The photos of Nollywood actress, Camilla Mberekpe, who was delivered of witch craft, went viral on the social media on Monday. However, my concern was the video as it will afford us the opportunity to watch what actually transpired inside the Synagogue Church in Lagos, during and after her confession.

Photo: Spider Found Living In Woman's Ear Canal

A woman who suffered from a severe itch inside her ear shocked doctors when it was discovered that a living spider was the reason behind her itch, according to reports in the news media.

Doctors in China performed a spiderectomy on the woman who had a spider living inside her ear for several days. Photos taken at the Central Hospital of Changsha show the creepy spider inside the ear before being removed.

The central Changsha woman was now understandably complaining to doctors about an itchy left ear, according to reports. Doctors determined that the spider was probably living in the ear canal of the woman for up to five days. They believe it got into her house as it was being renovated.

Doctors filled her ear with saline hoping it falls off without causing the spider to bite the woman or dig itself in deeper. The plan worked and the woman reportedly wept with gratitude.

Photo: Mother Of 9 Suffocates Newborn Baby Because “She Has Too Many Children”

An Arizona mother of nine suffocated her newborn baby to death because she “already had too many kids,” police said.

Nina Koistinen, 36, is accused of covering 6-day-old daughter Maya’s nose and mouth with her hand April 8 until she passed out in bed at their Phoenix home.

Her husband, Bradley, discovered the girl unconscious at 6:45 a.m.

He rushed her to hospital, but she was pronounced dead.

At first Koistinen told her husband Maya had fallen asleep during feeding.

But an autopsy revealed “possible signs of suffocation.”

A review of the mother’s child protection service reports led cops to question whether the death had been deliberate.

Records revealed she had previously made statements about wanting to smother her children.

She had also said she wished they’d go to heaven after a car crash that cops said appeared intentional.

Koistinen was arrested and, according to My Fox Phoenix, confessed to killing her baby because she “already had too many children.”

She also said she was jealous with the amount of time her husband was spending with the newborn.

Koistinen is being held on a secured bond of $1 million.

''I Have Already Spent The Prize Money'' – Nigerian Idols Winner, Moses Obi-Adigwe

In a recent interview Moses Obi-Adigwe, the first ever male winner of Etisalat-sponsored Nigerian Idols, spoke about his new found fame and what he hopes to do with his N7.5million prize money.
Excerpts:
Has the win fully sunk in yet?
Not fully. I still wake up and I am like, whose life is this? For a few hours I wake up and it’s like the regular old Moses and then it hits me, dude you just won Nigerian Idol and I cannot believe it but as the days go by, it becomes more real to me
So what has changed?
I get recognized a lot on the streets nowadays. I step out of my house and people just begin to scream, ‘Hey Moses’ and they don’t even call me Moses anymore, they call me the big teddy bear. There is so much love and at times I feel shy but yeah it’s all good.
Are you comfortable with the moniker ”Teddy bear”? Ruben Studdard, the American Idol Teddy bear seems to be forgotten now
I think Reuben is slightly retired from the pop scene but then he is still doing lots of small shows in the U.S. I am not worried about the name, I kind of like it because it is like a personalized brand; Moses the teddy bear and it goes so well with my size. A teddy bear is big, huge, cuddly and you just want to hug him so that helps my image and it sort of goes in line with my character and personality. It works out very well for me.
What is the typical day like for you since the win?
Generally I have interviews, studio sessions, meetings all day long. Sometimes I am out from 9:00am to 10pm but sometimes it is from 12noon to 4pm. I am usually very busy because even if I am not out, I am at home working on my songs and trying to think up new plans and ways to get my career on the fast track. Winning Nigerian Idol was just the beginning, launching my career is the next phase. In this industry it takes a whole lot of work.
Do you fear the curse of the Idol winner and other such talent shows?

I don’t think about that because to be honest I am different from every other single person who has ever won anything so I know my case is going to be different and it is going to be awesome. I mean I got kicked off the competition and was brought back and I won! I don’t think that has ever happened so I am definitely not bothered about that but I am also learning from the mistakes of other winners and I am trying to make sure I don’t make the same mistakes they did.
Who is on your playlist now?
My playlist is weird, just a couple of songs I really like. I love Beyonce’s ‘End of time’, Ebisan’s ‘Jowo’. Omawumi’s ‘When the boss is coming to kill the actor’ is so mad, it is on repeat right now. My family is tired of it but I don’t care, I love the album. Ne-yo’s ‘Let me love you’, The Glee cast version of Aretha Franklin’s ‘Aint no way’, Rob Thomas’ ‘This is how a heart breaks.’
Has the prize money been paid?
The money is on it’s way. I am just waiting for a bank alert. I am just waiting for my phone to ring, men enough flexing.
But you have gotten the car right?
Oh yes I have and I have been flexing it. And you know what, the car draws more attention because people see it, they look for me and then the screaming begins. I could move around in a plain car and no one would know it is me but in the Idol car, there is little chance of that. All eyes are on me but it has been an awesome experience so far.
You sound like you are already tired of being recognized.
No! I love every second of it because it is like every single person that recognizes me is an extra validation of my dreams and what I want to achieve in life because you have to be known in other to influence people’s lives and that is what I want to do with my music. So I am happy to be recognized.
Do you have a plan for protecting yourself and your winnings from people that might want to take advantage?
I already have a plan or plans for my money so anybody that comes up to me to say, do this, do that is kind of wasting their time because the money has already been spent. The trick is not spending everything and making sure you are spending on the right things and I am not really a big spender so it works out well for me.
You live in Abuja?
Yes, I do. But I am relocating to Lagos because that is where to be and where it all starts out so I have no choice really.

SAD: Bride drowns on Wedding Day, Body Found

After a popular global report of a woman who has been swept away while taking wedding photos in her wedding gown, the bride has now been identified, according to news media reports.

The bride posed for wedding photos late Friday when she got sucked into a river and was dragged to her death by her own wedding dress that was heavily soaked in water.

"I tried to save her. I tried, I tried, I tried," wedding photographer, Louis Pagakis, told the news media. Pagakis said that the woman now identified as 30-year-old Laval, Quebec realtor Maria Pantazopoulos, wanted a picture of herself swimming in her dress.

Canadian police told reporters that the woman had fallen off a cliff and plunged to death. They said she was a bride-to-be, according to reports. Later in the day, police corrected the reports, telling the news media that the woman only had her feet in the river.

They said her dress absorbed a lot of water and threw her into the water. She was eventually dragged away by the current. The police reported to the scene and soon found the woman's body about four hours later. Two witnesses, who were not named, were taken to a local hospital for shock.

''One Thing I Regret Most Is That I'm Divorced'' - Monalisa Chinda

When it comes to beauty in Nollywood, one of the names that will quickly come to mind is that of Monalisa Chinda.
But the unfortunate thing about her is that she is presently living alone. Her marriage to Dejo Richards packed up few years ago due to some irreconcilable differences.
While she alleged that Dejo physically abused her in the marriage, those in the camp of her ex-husband denied that, alleging that she caused the seperation.

Though Dejo has since married another woman, Monalisa has remained unmarried, though she was recently romantically linked with Lagos socialite, Lanre Nzeribe. The relationship is being kept under the carpet with none of the two denying or confirming the romance tale.

In a recent interview, Monalisa confessed her regrets having to raise the only product of her marriage with Dejo Richards. The union produced Tamar, a beautiful daughter.

According to the UNIPORT Theatre Arts graduate, “one thing I regret most is the fact that I am divorced. That's the only thing I regret, having to raise my child without the father.”

She further added that, “it is a bit painful. But I have to live with it. It's better that way than to expose my little daughter to all sorts of domestic violence. It will definitely affect her upbringing. She will be dis-functional. God knows the best. Maybe, I should have been more careful.”

Man shoots masked Thief dead only to discover it was his teen son

A man shot and killed a burglar only to discover later that the killed burglar is his son, according to reports.

The man fatally shot a masked teen in self-defense in his neighbor's house for what seemed to be a robbery attempt early morning and then discovered it was his son, state police said.

Police identified the dead boy as 15-year-old Tyler Giuliano, who was shot at about 1 am Thursday in New Fairfield, Connecticut, a town along the line of New York, just north of Danbury.

A woman who was alone in the house thought someone was breaking and called the father of the teenager, who lives next door. He took a gun and went to investigate, police said. The father confronted the persom who was wearing a black ski mask and black dress then fired his weapon when the person came to him with a shiny weapon in hand, police said.

When police arrived, the father was sitting on the grass next to the house of the woman and the teenager was lying on the roadway with gunshot wounds. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

"After all this is a tragedy," state police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance said. The teenager's father, Jeffrey Giuliano, a fifth grade teacher in the city, did not return a message seeking comment on what happened.

The boy was a student at New Fairfield High School, a short walk from the area where he was killed. School Superintendent Alicia Roy sent an email to parents about what happened, the local newspaper reported. "Our district has experienced a tragedy that has affected us deeply," he wrote, adding that students were not informed of the death, because all the facts were not clear.

No charges have been filed. State police are investigating. An autopsy is planned on the child.

Actress, Foluke Daramola Set To Drag Friend To Court For Defamation Of Character

Actress Foluke Daramola is getting ready to sue her former friend and journalist Bukola Fasuyi for defamation of character.
Bukola had claimed in an interview that she introduced Foluke to her new husband, Kayode Salako, and that Foluke had used juju to charm Kayode and break his home.
According to people close to Foluke, she and some family members have contacted their lawyer to sue Bukola for character assassination. Bukola will soon appear in court to prove that Foluke indeed used diabolical means to obtain Kayode Salako.

Bukola told an Encomium reporter this week that she's not bothered about a lawsuit and is waiting to get the petition from Foluke's lawyers. She said she still feels bad for introducing Foluke to Kayode because the introduction was for Foluke to get financial help from Kayode and not to take him from his wife.
"I'm not bothered about a lawsuit though Kayode has sent a threat message to me that we would meet in court. I'm more bothered about Kayode's wife. I hope she forgives me" She said.

Controversial N4.5billion Yacht Hotel Disappears From Lagos

The controversial N4.5 billion Sunborn Yacht Hotel, brought from England and moored on the Lagos waters for over four years, has finally disappeared from the state after the controversies surrounding its ownership.
It will be recalled that the custom built yacht, with 102 elegant suites, arrived the Lagos waters in November 2008  and instantly became a cynosure of all eyes.
The yacht, expected to serve as a four_star hotel, was, however , bedeviled by controversies since its arrival which led to it abandonment and subsequent rusting away on the water-ways.
When Vanguard visited the quay, by the Army Officers’ Mess at Marina, Lagos Island Local Government Area, there was no sign that such expensive and eye catching structure ever berthed there.
Enquiries from the state government and even residents of the state yielded no result as no one could  say specifically what happened to the multi-purpose built yacht that moored on the state water for over four years.Commissioner for Tourism, Mr. Oladisun Holloway, when asked to comment on the development denied the state government’s knowledge of the where about of the supposed ‘first African luxury hotel on water’.
According to Holloway; “As citizens of the state can’t find it, so is the state government also. The government can’t say precisely where the Yacht is berthed at present.”
The commissioner reiterated that “the state government doesn’t have any commitment in the yacht. And I don’t know why the residents of the state should be interested in whereabouts of the Sunborn yacht.
The four-star hotel, originally owned by the City of London, was conceptualised as a leisure and  business centre to service the higher echelon of Lagos society. Mr. John Smart, a boat operator, said he could not say accurately the whereabouts of the four storey multi-purpose built yacht, since removal last month.
According to Smart; “I cannot say the date when it was removed but all we saw on one fateful day was a large number of people who crowded the Sunborn Yacht and towed it away with another ship.  They didn’t inform anyone where they will be taking the yacht to and since then we were yet to see it.”
So, the question on the lips of residents and concerned citizens which has remained unresolved is; “where is the Sunborn Yacht Hotel and who is behind the deal”. Time will tell.

US President Obama Threatens Daughters About Getting A ''Tattoo''

Prior to the Boston Marathon Bombings, President Obama spoke on NBC’s “Today” show about what he would do if his daughters ever wanted to get a tattoo.
According to what Obama said, if his daughters Sasha and Malia are thinking of getting a tattoo, they best reconsider.
“What we’ve said to the girls is, ‘If you guys ever decide you’re going to get a tattoo, then mommy and me will get the exact same tattoo, in the same place, and we’ll go on YouTube and show it off as a family tattoo.’” Obama said.
“Our thinking is that might dissuade them from thinking that somehow that’s a good way to rebel.”
During the segment, the president also talked about how he understood his wife’s “slip of the tongue” when she called herself a “single mother” in early April, noting that they were often apart for weeks at a time when he was campaigning for the Senate and presidency.
“I tend to cut my wife or anybody some slack when it comes to just slips of the tongue,” he said.
“But there’s no doubt that there have been times where Michelle probably felt like a single mom … She definitely, I think, understands the burdens that women in particular tend to feel if they’re both responsible for child rearing and they’re responsible for working at the same time,” he added.

Terry G Beats Up AY Dot Com

Although the both parties mentioned do not enjoy the best of relationship for some years now, no one knew it would degenerate into a rofo rofo fight years after, until they finally engaged each other in a severe boxing match recently that finally earned AY a serious head but from ‘Terry the Ginja’ .
For the purpose of those who may not have understood the whole story, let us revert to the beginning of the matter.

In 2009, AY Dot come launched an attack on Terry G and warned him to stop performing his song, “Pass Me Your Love” in shows. The song which featured Terry and was also produced by him turned out to be a monster hit single later became the subject of a misunderstanding between the two parties over the years.

While Terry on his part claims he has the right of performing the song since it was a duet that featured him, AY Dot Come maintained it was never going to happen while he lives.

Meanwhile, AY on several occasions lamented of how Terry G went about collecting money on his behalf to perform the song without his consent.

Now from the story, you can see it was an age long animosity which finally turned out into a free for all fight, where blows were exchanged; several bottles broken, people injured, trying to separate the fight. Fast forward to what happened at Terry G’s Iju home on his birthday.

An eyewitness said, ‘AY came in the company of some friends as a sign of solidarity to celebrate with the ‘Intellectual Mad Man’ on his birthday and upon sighting him, Terry G Immediately threw caution to the wind and all the madness in him was let lose, as he punched AY severally and landed him an headbutt.
AY upon being rescued reached out for the next available weapon but was immediately intercepted by friends and colleagues. At this point the party was already thrown into a halt, while Terry G insisted that Ay disappears from his house before something worse happens. AY was immediately seen to the gate of the compound with bruises all over his body.

Neither Terry G nor AY was available to give their reaction on the story, as their both numbers were switched off as at the time of filing in this report.

Man Jailed 45 Years For Stealing Aregbesola’s Phone

For stealing a N50,000 Sony Ericsson phone belonging to Governor Rauf Aregbesola, a 31-year-old Kelvin Ighodalo has been sentenced to 45-year imprisonment by an Osogbo High Court.
Ighodalo stole the phone from the pocket of Aregbesola on November 27, 2010, when the governor was being inaugurated at Government Technical College, Osogbo.
Justice Oyejide Falola, who heard the case, found Ighodalo guilty on six counts, which included conspiracy, stealing and fraud.
He was sentenced to 10-year imprisonment for the first three counts and five years for each of the last three which included impersonation, obtaining property by falsehood and collusion.
Falola, who ruled that Ighodalo deserved the jail term, held that the convict used the phone to obtain N500, 000 from the Owa of Ilesa, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, while he obtained N200, 000 from Mr Shengen Rahman, an associate of the governor.
The jail term, which Falola pronounced will run concurrently, means that Ighodalo will spend the next 10 years behind bars.
Assistant principal state counsel, Mr Biodun Badiora, told the court that the convict had served six-year imprisonment in Ikoyi prison custody in connection with a murder case in 2005.
Counsel to Ighodalo, Mr. Ameachi Ngwu, prayed the court to commit him to community service, stressing that the convict should not be incarcerated but rather be placed where people could see him as a convict.

How ThisDay office was bombed – Star Witness

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja yesterday heard the graphic account of how a self-confessed member of Boko Haram, Mr. Mustapha Umar, bombed the offices of ThisDay, The Sun and The Moment newspapers in Kaduna on April 26, 2012. The blast killed three innocent people instantly and injured others. Some people also died later.
The testimony by four prosecution witnesses, who were all masked, came moments after the trial judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, threw out an application by the suspected bomber to oppose the plans by the prosecution to subject him to a secret trial. All the four witnesses, who took turn to mount the witness box, looked like masqueraders. The accused, who stared occasionally at the witnesses, laughed all through over their appearance.
The witnesses gave their account for over three hours. Three other witnesses are expected to give further evidence against Umar today. But the defence team, which was apparently not satisfied with the ruling of the judge on the public trial for the accused, may proceed to the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal this morning.
The lead defence counsel, Mr. Nureni Sulymon, said yesterday that he had never witnessed the kind of trial his client was subjected to. He wanted the witnesses to remove their masks, identify themselves by names, occupation, residential addresses, office addresses and history of their career which the prosecution said was not possible.
Although Sulymon allowed the prosecution witnesses to give evidence in the matter notwithstanding his opposition to the procedure of the trial, he vowed to test the ruling of the court at the appellate court.
The notice of appeal, if lodged, may stall Umar’s trial. Only counsel to both parties, court support staff, journalists and Law School students on externship programme were allowed to witness the proceedings yesterday.
First to mount the witness box was the star prosecution witness who was simply identified as XYZ of Oxford Street. In his evidence-in-chief, he narrated how Umar allegedly bombed the offices of the three newspapers thus: “On 26 April, 2012, at about 10am, I was passing along Kotangora Road in Kaduna when I saw people gathered around SOJ Plaza. “In the plaza, they sell flowers at the basement of the building.
On the upper floor are the offices of This- Day, The Sun and The Moment. I moved closer to find out what was happening. On getting closer, I saw one Honda car very close to the wall of the building. I saw about two people trying to rescue the accused from the vehicle.
He was sitting in the driver’s seat. I joined in attempting to rescue him because I thought it was a car accident. “But as much as we tried to bring him out, we failed. This is because the doors to the vehicle were locked from inside and we could not open them. But we eventually forced the doors open to rescue him. “Immediately we brought him out, to our amazement, he started shouting that he brought bomb to the premises and that it could explode any moment. He was speaking in Hausa language ‘bomb Che, bomb Che, wallahi’.

Why Husbands Cheat With Their Maids

Dear Women!
Have you ever asked yourself why husbands are sleeping with maids?

Well my findings revealed that maids are doing wives' duties.

Most wives are now full time facebookers, bb users, whatsapp etc chatting 24/7 at the expense of their homes.

Even when their husbands return from work, they won't welcome them with love and husbands that don't want argument, will go straight to the kitchen to get pure water to cool down.

Unfortunately maids whose 'oranges' are intact not floppy like wives will welcome your husbands.

At weekends, you don't stay home to cook special meals, you leave your maids to to do the task and where are you? Partying!

Don't you know these maids have needs as well and they have automatic promotion if your husbands should have s^x with them so pls dear women stop allowing maids to perform your duties.

Don't start crying when it happens because you pushed him to do what he never wanted to do.I know you may be busy, but if the Maid cooks food, be the one to serve that food to your husband, welcome him always when he's from work, be the one to give him water to take a shower, and never let your House Maid enter ur Bed room to clean there!
We are not saying this is the sole cause, but we do know that it is one of the causes why most men use to sleep with maid.

Massive cheating mars JAMB

Despite strenuous efforts by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, to reduce malpractices in its examinations to the barest minimum through the introduction of hi-tech devices and procedures, the 2013 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, held last Saturday across the country was characterised by large scale cheating by candidates, National Mirror can now reveal. School teachers, JAMB invigilators and even parents of candidates actively participated in the cheating.
In Lagos, many candidates in virtually all the centres visited by our reporters had access to the supposed answers before the commencement of the examinations. As early as 6:30a.m. some candidates were seen copying answers from their phones into pieces of paper, which they tucked in different parts of their bodies.
Most of them later entered the exam halls unhindered as the papers could not be detected by the metal detector and body searches by officials. It was not however clear how or when the JAMB question papers leaked to the public.
Nobody saw the papers but most candidates started receiving the supposed answers via SMS text massages very early in the morning. A candidate was overheard telling her friends that she got the physics answers from one Mr. Ajala her Physics teacher.
Another was overheard confirming he had got answers to all her subjects except Accounts which he urged the party on the line to send as fast as possible. From Vetland Senior High School, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government; Ojota Grammar School, Ojota; Agidingbi Grammar School; Isolo High School, Akute; Opebi High School; Ogudu Senior Secondary School, Ogudu GRA; Dolphin High School to Boys Academy, Lagos Island, the story was the same as the candidates were seen either copying the prepared answers or making calls to obtain the answers, which appeared to be in wide circulation across the country. In one of the centres, many of the candidates did not enter the exam hall until well over an hour after the exam had started.
They were seeing copying from their phones and only entered after they had tucked the small pieces of papers under their belts, inside their socks and other hidden parts of their bodies. They were later allowed to enter in batches well after the paid time.
National Mirror investigation also revealed that the candidates were assisted by invigilators. In two of the classes in one of the centres, candidates paid N500 and N1,000 respectively to invigilators to be able to use their phones and their prepared answers.
The invigilators also watched out for JAMB officials and often warned the candidates each time they approached the classroom. National Mirror is in possession of a question paper with omission of three questions, which a candidate asked to be changed by the invigilator. She was however ignored because according to her, she refused to pay the ‘levy’. One of the invigilators at a centre in Agege, Lagos openly advised the candidates to “help” themselves.
“Feel free to show your neighbour your paper,” she urged. Also to ensure that the candidates “use” the correct answers, an invigilator was seen in one of the centres warning candidates to be sure that the answers they were copying from their phones were for the right questions. Parents were also deeply involved in the malpractices.
For instance, at Dolphin High School, Lagos, many parents were seen making calls to get the supposed answers, which they passed on to their wards in the exam halls with the help of invigilators. Although many supervisors denied knowledge of such massive cheating by the candidates, a JAMB official in charge of the 11 centres in Ikotun/Idimu area told National Mirror that over 30 candidates were caught cheating at different centres in the area with the connivance of some invigilators.
He disclosed that he had to transfer some invigilators at Comprehensive College, Ikotun, having sensed that foul play was about taking place in the exam. In Ogun State, no fewer than 82 candidates were arrested from different centres for using their phones in the exam hall or copying from pieces of papers. Also in Abuja, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, personally caught a candidate for impersonation.
“We were able to fish him out because the registration number of his answer sheet is different from the one on the slip. His slip ended with DA while the real answer sheet ended with FH. “He came with wrong slip, in order to be sure, we went to the internet and discovered that the owner of that paper is from Enugu. This boy came to impersonate and unfortunately we were able to catch him.
I took him to the biometrics and ask him to thumbprint, but there was no record of his registration. I tried it myself; there was no record of my registration. He has been handed over to the civil defense who will hand him over to the law enforcement agency. “He registered for centre 021 but came to centre 022 and 023, he was handed answer sheet of 022.We discovered that the owner of the number was meant to be in Enugu which is O21 centre,” Ojerinde told newsmen, adding that the boy later confessed that his father did it for him. Also at Model Secondary School, Maitama, two students were caught with mobile phones while another was caught with a calculator. JAMB’s spokesman, Mr. Fabian Uchenna, however pledged the Board’s resolve to sanction those involved in such malpractice, saying it was already investigating all the established cases and would not hesitate to apply appropriate sanction on any candidate found guilty. He told National Mirror yesterday that the examination body would soon come up with a comprehensive figure of candidates involved in malpractices across the country before the end of this week. Uchenna, however, denied that the leakage of JAMB questions would have emanated from the Board’s officials saying its staff are “people of integrity”
