''I Specialize In Raping Old Women'' – Suspect Tells Enugu Police


The Enugu State police command has recorded another breakthrough in its battle against criminal elements who specializes in raping old women at Opi, Nsukka community in the state.
This followed the arrest of one Nnanna Osondu, who had confessed to being among the perpetrators of the evil act.
The police spokesman in Enugu State, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, while confirming the arrest said the suspect was apprehended with the help of members of the community who responded to distress call from a victim.

He said luck ran out on the suspect on Sunday at about 4.30pm when he attempted to rape another old woman during which the victim raised alarm that drew the attention of some villagers.
He said the villagers contacted the police immediately and the suspect was arrested.
The PPRO said upon interrogation, the suspect revealed that “he used to go to homes of some of the identified victims forcefully at night and that he is now regretting every bit of his actions and prayed for forgiveness.
 
“The suspect revealed that he specializes in the raping of old women in the town, which according to him is normally carried out in the night time by laying siege against any of his targeted victim along the road while armed with his sharp kitchen knife, with which he usually threatened his victims any time he confronts them so that they will always succumb to his sexual assault”.
The suspect also reportedly disclosed that he had raped many old women in the community and that he was not doing it for ritual purposes but to satisfy his sexual urge since young women cannot succumb to his wish and since he cannot lay his hands on any person in form of marriage.
The suspect equally claimed that he abandons any of his victims that showed stiff resistance.
Amaraizu said the operatives of the state Criminal and Investigations Department had commenced a full scale investigations on the incident, just as the command thanked good spirited members of the community for their prompt report and assistance.‬
