If Guardiola goes to Chelsea, he will succeed there – Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi says the queue forming to bring Pep Guardiola to the Premier League is understandable because he is guaranteed to succeed wherever he goes.
The three times winner of FIFA’s Golden Ball and favourite to win the award again at the end of the year dismissed doubts over whether his former coach could transfer his skills to the Premier League.
He said: ‘Guardiola will be a success wherever he goes. He is widely recognised as one of the best coaches in the world.
‘For me he is the best coach in the world and wherever he goes he will be a success I have no doubt about that. He’ll go where he wants to go and good luck to him.’
Messi was speaking as the makers of FIFA 13, EA Sports, presented his foundation with a cheque for $250,000 at the Camp Nou, Barcelona.
He said the dismissal of the coach who masterminded last year’s elimination of Barcelona from the Champions League was not entirely surprising.
Asked about Roberto Di Matteo’s departure from Stamford Bridge he said: ‘It’s difficult to judge the situation when you are not inside the club but Chelsea are a great club and with big clubs if you lose two game consecutively then these things can happen, the pressure starts to mount.’
Messi is closing in on Gerhard Müller’s record of 85 goals in one calendar year with 80 to his name for 2012.
He said: ‘I have only seen images of him playing, they see he needed very little opportunity to score a goal.’
His goals have come for both Barcelona and Argentina and he praised international team-mates Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero dumped out of the Champions League against Real Madrid last night.
He said: ‘I follow the English league and they are both fantastic players. City are Champions and leaders and that is in large down to those two players.’
