EFCC Arraigns Two Former Vanguard Newspaper Employees For Stealing N2million


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Wednesday arraigned Dickson Ubi Effah and Ngozi Anthony before a FCT High Court, on 4-count charge of theft and misappropriation of funds.
The duo who were employees of Vanguard Media Limited  are alleged to have stolen the sum of N2, 024,795 from their employer and, thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Penal Code Act Cap 532 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

The two defendants pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to them.
The Presiding Judge; Justice Jude Okeke, granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N3 million each and a surety in like sum.
The surety must be resident in Abuja and should depose to an affidavit of means.
The Judge further stated that addresses of the sureties are to be verified by the court registrar and operatives of the Commission.
The case was adjourned to June 27, 2013 for trial.
