Homicide detectives attached to “B” Police Division in Akure, the Ondo State capital, have arrested three persons for allegedly killing a 25-year-old man, Sunday Emmanuel.
Police sources said the suspects will be charged to court after conclusion of investigation into the matter.
Emmanuel was reportedly shot dead with a locally- made gun in a farm at Iduta Camp on Idanre road, Akure.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the incident, saying the deceased’s body was recovered on a farm in pool of blood.
Ogodo said a hunter’s bag and cutlass were among items recovered from the crime scene, adding that the corpse had since been deposited at the Akure Specialist Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Community Mirror learnt the deceased had earlier reported a case of threat to his life by one Anthony Joseph to the police, who is one of the suspects.
It was gathered that the policem officer investigating the allegation had fixed a date for possible settlement of the rift baetween Joseph and the late Emmanuel before the deceased was killed.
Ogodo, who described the death as unfortunate, disclosed that the police were still investigating the complaints of the deceased before he was killed by his assailants.
