Ritual Killing: Police Arraign Driver For Kidnapping, Stealing

Paul, a driver who was accused of being a kidnapper and ritual killer by a woman in his area, was on Monday, arraigned before a Somolu Magistrate’s Court on two counts of kidnapping and stealing.
It was reported on January 27, 2014 that Tope Ismail, a resident of Anuoluwapo Street Somolu had on Saturday, accosted Paul while he was washing his car outside his home at Sodeke Street, Somolu.
Ismail reportedly raised the alarm and told neighbours that Paul was the driver of a commercial bus that had on January 21, 2014, kidnapped her and about 10 others. The bus, said to have been headed for Yaba, allegedly took a detour to an unknown destination after its occupants became unconscious after boarding the bus.
She allegedly regained consciousness when her captors touched her with an object. Ismail was taken away from the scene soon after; she was the only passenger in the bus who reportedly regained her freedom.
The Onipanu Police Division was alerted by the community development association chairman when it became apparent that Ismail was not ready to let Paul go.
At Court 12, Somolu Magistrate’s Court, curious residents thronged the premises to watch events unfold at Paul’s arraignment.
It was learnt that some residents who were upset that the police failed to investigate Ismail’s claims of ritual killing before taking Paul to court, alerted the Office of the Public Defender. Two lawyers later arrived from the OPD to take matters up on Ismail’s behalf.

Wife Who Gave Husband Her Kidney To Save His Life Wants It Back After He Dumped Her

41 years old loving wife Samantha who saved her husband’s life by giving him one of her kidneys now wants it back after he dumped her.
Her husband Andy Lamb was dying of renal kidney failure and was only being kept alive by weekly sessions of dialysis until his wife Samantha persuaded him to take one of hers.
‘He needed a new kidney or he would die. He was on dialysis three times a week. I told Andy he should go through with it. He had children from an earlier relationship and he wanted to be there for them.’
But Samantha says as soon as she went through with the operation she regretted it. She believed herhusband was cheating on her – first that he was having an affair with her friend Clare. Samantha confronted her friend, Clare confirmed they were having an affair which Andy totally denied.
The couple tried to save their marriage and Samantha gave her husband one more chance but later discovered he was having sex chats online with women.

The couple got married in 2007 but in 2012, Andy finally left his wife. Samantha said:
‘I would definitely go through the operation again – but I wouldn’t give the kidney to him. I hate him. If I could, I’d take it back and give it to someone else.’

Prophet TB Joshua Delivers A Gay Nigerian, Restores Him Back To Being Straight!

A man named Mr Tedus has come out to give his testimony that he has been delivered from the demon which made him gay over the years. During the live broadcast, Mr Tedus, was asked few questions and shared his experience which were posted on the ministry’s Facebook page in a post titled, “Deliverance is the Answer”.
According to him, he felt a spirit entered him some time ago, and shortly after that, he began to have feelings for men. But now that he is delivered, his affection for men has disappeared and now focuses on women.
He concluded by saying; “If you come across someone with the same problem, you should not condemn. The only answer is deliverance.”
Before then, Pastor TB Joshua also said, people shouldn’t fight gays, but the spirit behind them and that is why so many churches today are fighting the wrong battles. His words;
“God loves sinners but hates sin. We should hate the act but not the people – because sinners can be delivered and changed. Sinners can be reformed since our battle is not against the flesh and blood but against the spirit beings that cause these acts”.
T.B. Joshua said, “If we fail to see that there are powers that cause people to be bowed down in bondage, we are fighting the wrong battle. That is why so many churches today are fighting the wrong battle. When you are armed for battle, you will not fight the wrong battle; you will listen to the inner voice of the Holy Spirit. The issue of faith is not an issue of man’s flesh. It is of man’s spirit, not man’s flesh”.

SSS Releases El-Rufai

The State Security Service released the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, in the early hours of Tuesday after quizzing the ex-minister for about 15 hours.
El-Rufai, who reported to the SSS Abuja office at about 9.30am on Monday, was released some minutes after midnight.
The bail conditions of the All Progressives Congress chief was not known as of the time of filing this report.
The former minister was summoned by the SSS for what the security agency described as provocative and inciting comments.
El-Rufai was reported to have said there would be violence if the 2015 elections are not free and fair.
—————————————————
The State Security Service on Monday detained a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir el-Rufai at its headquarters in Abuja.
The SSS operatives detained el-Rufai, who is the interim Deputy Publicity Secretary of the opposition All Progressives Congress, when he reported at their office at about 9.20am in respect of the invitation he received for making “an inciting statement.”
Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, accompanied by Senator Chris Ngige, drove el-Rufai to the SSS office.
Amaechi said he was mandated by the leadership of the APC to accompany the ex-minister. Other party chieftains, including the APC national secretary, Mr. Tijani Tumsah, who also accompanied el-Rufai, were barred from entering the SSS premises.
One of the ex-minister’s wives and his lawyer were also part of the entourage that went with him to the Maitama office of the secret police.
Amaechi spent about one hour inside the SSS premises before he left. Ngige, who spent about four hours, left the SSS premises around 3pm. An attempt to speak with him by journalists was aborted by SSS operatives who asked everyone to leave the area.
The SSS had invited el-Rufai to its office last Friday over a statement in which he said there would be violence during the 2015 elections.

Governors Treat Jonathan Like Their Houseboy — Jeremiah Useni

The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Arewa Consultative Forum, and former FCT Minister, Lt.Gen Jeremiah Useni (retd.) tellsADELANI ADEPEGBA that the proposed national conference is a waste of time and that northern agitators should allow President Goodluck Jonathan contest in 2015
It’s been some time since we heard your voice in the political circuit. Why have you been quiet?
Unless there is something important, one doesn’t make noise. But I don’t have to make noise before you know I’m around. Yes, I only talk when there is an issue of concern to me, when there is something of general interest and when I think my voice may be of relevance.
As a retired general in the Nigerian Army, how would you rate the Federal Government’s fight against terrorism and insecurity across the country?
Government is doing its best, no doubt about it. But we started late, if we had nipped it in the bud, the issue would have been different. It is just like the civil war, where we started with police action. It had become a full-scale war before we took proper action and it took three years to stop the Biafran war. It is just like this case, but like I said, everything is being done to get it off our neck. Government is doing its best, a division has been created for that zone, the Seventh Division of the Nigerian Army. Service chiefs have been changed to give new impetus to the campaign. I see more improvement in clamping down on those people.
Would you agree a carrot-and-stick approach is the best in handling Boko Haram?
I don’t know whether that is going on now. Even in war, those who surrender, you treat them nicely and those who refuse to surrender, of course, you deal with them appropriately.

I’m A Reformed Tomboy – Pryse

Princess Esindu aka Pryse is a fast-rising rap artiste. The graduate of media and communication in this interview tells why music appeals to her
How did your childhood affect your love for music?
Growing up, I was a tomboy and this was borne out of the fact that I have three older brothers who were also into rap music. They discovered I had a thing for rap music and I featured in their recordings.
Did you have a privileged upbringing?
I was born in Port Harcourt to Mike and Dolly Esindu, as Princess Esindu. I am from Enugu State and I attended Aladumo Educational Centre, Bereton College, and then finished WAEC at the OMPADEC Science Centre. I got my bachelor’s degree at Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom.  As the only daughter, I was a bit of a tom-boy as a teenager. To be honest, I was more of a pampered child.
Where did you derive your stage name?
The name came about when I was 14.  I was in search of a stage name and settled for Pryse which was derived from my name, Princess. Initially I settled for Baby Pryse. When I got into the university, I took out ‘Baby’.

Before Acquiring That Degree From Ghana

IN their desperation for university education, Nigerian students now rush to Ghana, where most of them fall prey to the scam of burgeoning degree mills to acquire certificates of dubious distinction or no academic value. The racketeers operate from one-block institutions or portakabins, pompously labelled as universities. There are 50 privately-owned universities approved by the Ghanaian government, most of which are involved in this academic charade. The Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (Nigeria), Julius Okojie, said in August 2013 that Ghana had only four recognised universities. This is instructive. The rest are affiliate institutions.
The rot in these so-called citadels of learning was the focus of a 10-day tour late last year. There are about 110,000 Nigerians currently studying there, according to records at the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana. They pay outrageous tuition, just as their brethren in business who are fleeced before being allowed to operate despite ECOWAS protocol on free trade. According to Wale Babalakin, Chairman, Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, these fees result in capital flight of about N160 billion annually from Nigeria to Ghana. This figure was higher than Federal Government’s education budget in 2011.

Rihanna Escape Wardrobe Malfunction at Pre-Grammy Gala

I Have Watches Worth $200,000(N32m), Most Celebs Wear Fake Stuff -- Freeze CoolFM

Here is what the popular radio host with Cool FM told Punch when asked about about how many wrist watches he owns …
“Not like how many, like how much.I have maybe $200,000 in wristwatches. What I am wearing now is a Rolex Daytona, I got it from Polo for Christmas. It cost about $30,000. Polo is Nigeria’s only authorised dealer, so I bought it from the company and I love it.
First thing first, for all the entertainers putting up pictures of their accessories on Instagram, can they please tweet the receipt from an authorised dealer. Trust me, I have seen too many celebs wear fake stuffs. You can tell that they don’t know what they are wearing. Of course, there are a few brand names like D’banj, Don Jazzy, P-Square or Wizkid that would not wear fake. I have seen them wear good watches. But there are some other people who I have seen wear funny looking pieces.

Open letter To Maheeda By Pissed UK-Based Radio & TV Presenter, Minnie Marj

Yeah it is about that time where I grab my laptop in order to do something that I am very passionate of: Writing and sharing my point of view.
kk
Nope, its not about a big celebrity that misbehaved in one way or another. It is about this music video that is currently trending. That naked Lady showcasing her seduction skills rather than the usual dope, off the chain 16 BARS that we always expect a rapper to do, goes by the name of Maheeda.
This video is stirring up much controversy , due to Maheeda’s naked self frolicking around for some overly-hormonal Gentlemen who seem to enjoy the spectacle. It’s a shame nobody will actually really listen to the song and rate this artist according to her musical skills.

18+ Only: How Long Do Ladies Want A Man To Last?

Lets talk about our Sexlife, this can help many people here…
The question might seem pointless but when I considered a factor I think it is a question worth asking. The factor I considered is that in most cases partners do not communicate their dissatisfaction so they go ahead doing what they think is best while they never knew their partners found it displeasing.
For instance a guy can last 30 minutes and then climb down feeling like a boss not knowing that the lady still considers him a one minute man and 30 minutes is not enough for her. But she shouldn’t tell the guy cos she maybe shy or not to make him feel bad.

Nigeria will start exporting cars soon —Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday expressed the belief that with the measures put in place by his administration, especially the new National Automotive Industry Policy; the country would soon be exporting cars to other countries.

Jonathan spoke at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, while granting audience to a delegation of the business community from Anambra State led by Governor Peter Obi.

In responding to an address by the delegation, the President said, “I will refer all the issues you raised to the various departments of government. We are totally committed to creating jobs. Nigeria is a country with huge population of youths. If jobs are not created, there will be crisis. The housing, agriculture and power sectors are also receiving attention.

“In the next few years, Nigeria will begin to export cars to other countries. We are encouraging the government to support local manufacturers.”

Jonathan promised that the industrialists’ basic needs such as roads, power and port facilities would be addressed appropriately.

He said if Nigeria must become great as expected by all, the Federal Government must industrialise the nation.

To this end, he said his administration would continue to encourage industrialists in the country.

“If any country will be great, we must industrialise. If Nigeria must be a great country, we must industrialise. To this end, we will continue to encourage industrialists in Anambra,” the President added.

He said his government was also devoting attention and resources to the power sector because of its critical role in industrialisation.

Vice-President Namadi Sambo told the delegation that Jonathan had recently approved $3.7bn to improve power transmission across the country.

Obi had earlier told the President that the enterprising and preserving nature of Anambra people made them well-positioned to assist Jonathan to achieve his administration’s transformation agenda.

While declaring the support of the people of the state for Jonathan, Obi said, “You have excess credit in your political account that these people (members of the delegation) are ready to pay you when you need it.”

The governor said he led the delegation to express their support for the President and bring to his attention some of the industrialists’ collective, which if addressed, would help in anchoring the growth and development of industry in the state.

Some of the needs, according to him, are the completion of the 330/132/33KV power substation at Nnewi; provision of uninterrupted power supply in the Onitsha Harbour Industrial Area and Ozubulu Industrial Hub; completion of the Nnamdi Azikwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi; and the inclusion of Anambra State in the rail master plan.

Obi also made a case for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of federal roads within the state such as the Oba-Nnewi-Okigwe Section 1, Nnewi-Okija, start of Onitsha Second Niger Bridge, completion of the Onitsha-Enugu dual carriageway and completion of the Umueze-Anam Kogi road.

The governor also thanked the President for the inclusion of Nnewi in the National Automotive Industry Policy of the Federal Government.

This, he said, would attract many ancillary industries, especially with the coming on stream of the Ajaokuta Steel Plant, adding that the local content in vehicle manufacturing in no time would increase from 40 per cent to 60 per cent.

Liverpool ready to splash £7m on Moses

Liverpool are keen on securing a permanent deal for Chelsea winger Victor Moses, reports The Metro.

The Reds took the 22-year-old on loan from the Blues in the past transfer window and, despite the Nigerian star in-and-out of the team at Anfield, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to keep him for the long term.

It’s thought the Merseyside outfit will have to pay their Premier League rivals £7m for his long term services.

Moses however, will be looking for more opportunities at the Anfield outfit before he decides to leave Chelsea for good.

The winger struggled for opportunities at Stamford Bridge and with Jose Mourinho in charge at Chelsea, it’s unlikely he will get many opportunities in the future.

And with Liverpool ready to keep him at the club, Moses may now see his long term future on Merseyside, if he is given more opportunities to shine.

Liverpool currently sit above Moses’ parent club in the table as both clubs go in search of glory this season.

Moses hope he can perform better if given more opportunities at Anfield, and he expresses his delight at playing under Rogers who has a great deal of his respect and admiration.

“He’s a great manager to play under,” Moses told reporters. “He’s very clear with the players. He knows what he wants us to do.

“There’s a winning mentality, but he also realises that if we are enjoying ourselves, we’re likely to do better. I’ve known him since I was 16 – when I was at Palace and he was at Chelsea.

“He really wanted me to go there. I said no a few times. I thought Palace was the best place for me at that time. But he never forgot about me.

“I was delighted when he came in for me again. There were a few clubs interesting in taking me, but when I heard about Liverpool, my decision was made straightaway.”

ASUU strike, a rebellion — Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan says the strike embarked upon by the  Academic Staff Union of Universities since July 1, 2013 over the non-implementation of 2009 agreement with the Federal Government is no longer a trade dispute but a subversive action.
Jonathan said this at the Peoples Democratic Party state caucus meeting at the Government House, Yenagoa. The meeting, presided over by the party chairman in the state, Col. Samuel Inokoba (retd), started late on Friday and ended on Saturday.
The President was reacting to a plea by a former governor of the state, Mr. Diepreye Alamieyesigha, on the December 4 deadline given to ASUU to call off its strike or be sacked.
Alamieyesigha noted that the same date was fixed for the burial of late Prof. Festus Iyayi, who died in a road accident in Kogi State on November 12, en route Kano for the national executive council.
The NEC meeting was meant to deliberate on the latest government offer after meeting with Jonathan on November 4 to the early hours of November 5.
The  former governor, who is also the Chairman Elders Advisory Forum in the state, urged the President to reconsider the date in order not to be seen as insensitive.
President Jonathan said despite holding the longest meeting in his political career with all the highest officers in his administration present including the Vice-President, Minister of Finance, Minister of Labour, Minister of Justice, the Secretary to the Government and the delegation from the Nigeria Labour Congress,  ASUU did not deem it fit to reconsider its stance.
Jonathan said, “What ASUU is doing is no longer trade union. I have intervened in other labour issues before now, once I invite them, they respond and after the meeting they take decision and call off the strike.
“At times, we don’t even give them a long notice unlike in the case of ASUU that was given four days notice before the meeting. As you are meeting to resolve trade disputes, you expect the trade unions to get their officials ready. What was expected having met with the highest authorities in the land for long hours, was for ASUU to immediately issue a statement within 12 or latest 24 hours to state their position whether they were accepting government’s offer or not. And if they are not accepting, they state the reason for that.
“But despite the fact that I had the longest meeting with ASUU in my political history, we did not start that meeting until around 2 pm and the meeting ended the next day in the early hours of the morning. As far as the government of Nigeria was concerned, all the critical people that should be in a meeting were there, so what else do they want?
He added, “After that, they didn’t meet until one week, despite the fact that you met with the highest authority. It was unfortunate one of them, Prof. Iyayi died.
“The way ASUU has conducted the matter shows they are extreme and when Iyayi died, they now said the strike was now indefinite, our children have been at home for over five months.
“We didn’t give them ultimatum; it was the Committee of Vice Chancellors that took that decision. The supervising minister of education only passed on the decision. What ASUU is doing is no longer trade dispute but subversive action. But like you rightly noted so that we will not be perceived to be insensitive, we will consult on the deadline.”
The Federal Government had on Thursday given ASUU one week ultimatum to call off strike or consider themselves sacked.
Meanwhile, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has dared  the Federal Government to reopen the universities.
The ASUU chairman at the Obafemi  Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Prof. Adegbola  Akinola, said this in an interview with our correspondent in Osogbo on Friday.
The ASUU chairman said members of the union were unfazed  by the deployment of troops to varsities.
The don said he was not sure that the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, had the consent of President Goodluck Jonathan before issuing the ultimatum.
He stated that the union did not shut the universities but just withdrew services of its members to press home their demands that government should take steps to reverse the decay in the public universities.
